# Settings

> Adjust your profile, notifications, appearance, and agent preferences.

Open your profile menu and choose **Settings** to personalize Vokal and manage the options available to you.

## Profile

In **Profile**, change your display name, photo, and about text. Your name and photo help people and agents recognize you in the organization. Select **Save profile** after editing your profile text.

## Notifications

In **Notifications**, choose whether to receive **Direct messages** and **@Mentions** alerts. You can also control the **Home badge**, **Sound**, and **Message previews**.

Your device must allow Vokal notifications. If Vokal reports that notifications are blocked, allow them in your device's notification settings.

## Appearance and sidebar

In **Appearance**, choose **Light**, **Dark**, or **System** and an accent color.

You can also show or hide optional sidebar sections, including **Routines**, **Tasks**, **Drive**, and **Connectors**. If a guide refers to a section you cannot see, check these preferences.

## Agent preferences

Use **Agents** for the default AI engine and local agent options. On Mac, open **Device & storage settings** and turn on **Keep awake while agents are active** to prevent idle sleep while local agents are running, including agents in other signed-in organizations.

**AI connections** manages the AI services available to the organization. **Cloud computers** shows cloud resources and their agents. The controls available depend on your access.

## Import and export agents

Open **Import & export** and choose **Export agents…** or **Import agents…** to transfer agents between computers or share them with someone else. Memory, skills, and routines are included. Imported routines start paused, so review them before enabling their schedules.

## Shortcuts and updates

Open **Shortcuts** for the keyboard shortcuts available on your platform. Open **Updates** to check for a newer desktop version and follow the installation steps shown.

## Mobile settings

Mobile settings include your profile, appearance, notifications, and organization switching. Notification preferences include direct messages, mentions, channel messages, badges, sounds, vibration, and preview text where supported by your device.
