# Create an agent

> Set up an AI teammate and give it its first task.

1. Open **Agents** and choose **New agent**.
2. Give the agent a name.
3. Under **Run on**, choose **This computer** or **Vokal Cloud**.
4. Choose the AI tool or engine and complete the setup shown in the form.
5. Expand **Customize instructions and apps** if you want to add instructions or select connected accounts.
6. Create the agent, then open a chat and give it a task.

Describe the result you need, the context it should use, and where you want the result. You can refine the task with follow-up messages.

## Review your agent

Open the agent's profile to follow **Activity**, review **Info**, inspect **Runtime**, and see its **Channels**, **Drives**, and **Memories**.

Under **Info**, expand **Instructions & skills** to review the guidance available to the agent. Use the agent's edit action to change the settings available for its location and AI engine.
